Objective
This project focused on creating a poster built around a strong visual system with typography as the primary design element. The poster features Oscar Robertson, highlighting his impact on basketball and his legacy as an advocate for equality and players’ rights. Through typography and visual design, the piece celebrates his contributions both on and off the court.
Experimentation
In this typography studio project, I explored a variety of visual approaches to communicate ideas through type. Experimenting with different compositions, styles, and design techniques expanded my creative process and led to new directions for the final poster that I had not initially considered.
Design Concepts
The design process began with broad experimentation, exploring multiple concepts and visual approaches. Through continuous refinement and iteration, I evaluated different compositions and design choices before selecting the direction that best communicated the project's message.
Final Product
The final poster communicates the information in a clear and engaging way while emphasizing Oscar Robertson's legacy through a strong typographic hierarchy and cohesive visual design. The finished piece effectively balances readability with visual impact, creating a design that is both informative and compelling.
